2011 Propane Engine Fuel Summit

The 2011 Propane Engine Fuel Summit, held May 3 and 4, provided new and innovative on- and off-road propane vehicles and applications to a studio and online audience of more than 500 each day.
The summit, organized by the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) in partnership with the Alternative Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Long Beach, Calif., featured 35 presenters including manufacturers from General Motors and Freightliner Custom Cab & Chassis, and fleet operators from Coca-Cola, Wright & Filippis, and ThyssenKrupp Elevator. Representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency and the California Energy Commission led a panel discussion of funding opportunities. Roy Willis, PERC’s president, delivered the keynote address.
With the theme “Advancing Propane Autogas: Technologies and Markets,” presentations covered research and development, training, and safety topics connected with vehicles that run on propane autogas and off-road equipment that operates on propane.
