State Incentive Programs

Most states offer at least one incentive or law to encourage vehicle owners, fleet managers, and other businesses and individuals to adopt propane-fueled vehicles.

In total, there are more than 260 state-mandated incentives and regulations that promote more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient propane-fueled transportation. Incentives may include grant programs, loan programs, leasing programs, tax incentives and credits, rebate programs, and exemptions. Regulations may address issues such as acquisition or fuel use, driving or idling, registration or licensing, fuel taxes, fuel production or quality, renewable fuel standards, air quality or emissions, and climate change or energy initiatives.
