Lawn Equipment
Propane-fueled lawn equipment such as trimmers, leaf blowers, and other lawn care technology is available for residential and commercial use. In addition to its clean-burning, environmentally friendly energy profile, propane offers reliable and safe power for a variety of lawncare applications.

PERC efforts to develop and test a four-stroke commercial engine for use in lawn equipment have enabled manufacturers to harness the benefits of propane technology. Lehr, a commercial manufacturer that is continuing to expand its line of commercial and residential propane-fueled outdoor equipment, has developed the EcoTrimmer and Blower Vac, which are both fueled by easily replaceable standard 16.4-ounce propane canisters. It has also developed the Self-Propelled Eco Mower, which is certified by the California Air Resources Board.
Propane-fueled lawn equipment offers the following benefits: • Eliminates all evaporative emissions. • Decreases particulates by 97 percent in comparison with gasoline-fueled models. • Reduces carcinogens by 96 percent in comparison with gasoline-fueled models. • Emits no ozone-depleting hydrocarbons. • Prevents gasoline spills during landscape equipment refueling, which currently results in 17 million gallons of gasoline each year.
